100% Estate Kona

ROAST RATING: CITY
Here it is folks, by popular demand. I've said for a while now that I won't carry Kona: it's generally overpriced mediocrity. Much better coffees can be had from other regions for a fraction the price. But, after much pestering from customers who enjoy the Kona, I decided to snoop around and see what I could find. Many samples and cups of mediocrity later (and a caffeine headache or two), I came upon the gorgeous coffee you'll find here. This coffee is good by ANY standard, and far surpasses any Kona I've ever tried.

It's grown by a husband and wife, without chemicals, in the most natural way possible. They do all work on their very small plantation themselves, by hand, so as to impact the local flora and fauna as little as possible. The water is volcanically filtered aquifer water. Once they've finished the growing and picking process, they send it to a local coffee processor to be carefully processed according to their demanding specifications. You would be hard pressed to find a coffee with more tender loving care put into it, anywhere in the world.

I roast this amazing coffee much lighter than my other coffees, in much smaller batches than usual. A dark roast totally obscures the flavors of the origin, which is what people pay for when they buy Kona. This exquisite Kona has the flavors of origin in spades: coconut and mild hazelnut, with light tropical fruit overtones, mild to moderate acidity, and the smoothness that Kona is renowned for. It truly towers over other Konas.
